Cynthia Kay Smith, 55, passed away November 17, 2013 at her home in
Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born October 31, 1958 in South Gate, California,
the daughter of Clifford and Juanita Harris.
She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1976 and worked in various retail
and bakery outlets during her career until physical ailments forced her to retire.
She enjoyed reading Stephen King mysteries, loved tending her garden, and was
an avid animal lover. Her family was the true love of her life.
She is survived her mother and step-father, James R. Lanham; 2 daughters,
Cortney Lynn Smith, and, Heather Danielle Cornick (Frank), 3 sisters, Lynnita
Harris, Carolyn Jo Harris, Lisa May Cokeley (Cy), 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father, and grandparents.
Public visitation and celebration will be Friday, November 22, 2013 from 4:00 -
8:00 pm at Old Mission – Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Ks
with the family present from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests
memorial gifts to go to the Reno County Animal Shelter.
Old Mission – Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
