James C. Dickinson, 60, went to be with his Lord and Savior, June 29, 2014. The son of Glen and Esther Dickinson, he was born June 16, 1954 in McPherson, Kansas. A 1972 graduate of Nickerson High School, he was member of Union Valley Bible Church and served on the church board of trustees for many years. He recently celebrated his 35th anniversary of employment with Morton Salt where he was a fork lift operator. He loved to tinker and work with old cars. His family was where his heart was, and he loved standing over a hot grill to make sure they never left without a full stomach. On January 22, 1977 he married Irene Ryff in Hutchinson, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Joshua; one daughter, Elizabeth; his mother; three brothers, Roger ( Connie), Jerry, and, Craig (Noelle) Dickinson; four sisters, Karen (Kennith) Pitzer, Bonnie Swenson, Judy and Jane Dickinson; 3 sisters in law, Laura (Gregg) Pope, Londa (Shannon) Beck, Leigh Ryff; many nieces and nephews, as well as his and Irene’s 38 years of day care children. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 9:30 at Union Valley Bible Church with Pastor Steve Hodgson presiding. Inurnment will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial to the Union Valley Bible Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.
