Clik here to view.Delphine G. Martin, 101, passed away April 12, 2015 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. The daughter of George and Katie Ortner, she was born October 13, 1913 in Hitchcock, Oklahoma. She was a professional seamstress, designing clothing from dance costumes to wedding attire. She enjoyed cooking and she was known for her bierocks, case noodles, pecan rolls, and cherry cheesecake. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and was a huge KU basketball fan. She liked the challenge of a good crossword puzzle also. She married Roy E. Meier in 1929 and they later divorced. In 1950 she married Finis “Curly” Martin. He preceded her in death in 1995. Other survivors include 2 sons, Larry Meier (Marticia) of Wichita, Jim Meier (Elaine) of Hutchinson; 1 step-sister, Mary Martin Zinter of West Linn, Oregon; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 son, William. A public gathering will be held Monday, April 20, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Old Mission Mausoleum Chapel, 3424 E. 21st Street, Wichita, Kansas with a celebration of life to follow at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Hutchinson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Dillon Living Center and left in care of Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
