Everett W. Johnson, 86, passed away April 3, 2016 at Mennonite Friendship Communities in South Hutchinson, Kansas. The son of Elmer and Pansy Johnson, he was born in Pittsburg, Kansas on October 18, 1929. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked in both the paper mill and railroad industry. He was a loyal member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, and would volunteer to help the church any way he could. He was volunteer worker for the Kansas State Fair, the Reno County Sheriff Patrol, and Golden Gloves Boxing for 30 years. Survivors include 1 son, Chris; 2 brothers, Johnny and Cecil; 1 sister, Betty Jo. He was preceded by his parents, wife, Doris, 2 sons, 2 brothers, Johnny and Cecil; 1 sister, Betty Jo. Friends and family may come and visit at their leisure through Friday, April 8, 2016 at Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. A reading of the Rosary will take place at 10:00 am Monday, April 11, 2016 with a celebration mass at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, Kansas, with Father Ned Blick presiding. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and left in care of the funeral home.
